The original Korean web novel premiered on Naver Web Novel and concluded on August 5, 2021 and side story premiered on August 12 and concluded on September 9, 2021.
There is a webtoon adaption of the series.
Kim Young Ji is also the author of Philia Rosé: The Prophecy of the Crown of Thorns.
Synopsis
When Rena Rubel's father, the esteemed Viscount Rubel, summons her to his study, she excitedly expects to receive a gift for her twelfth birthday. Instead, with lies on his tongue and a smile on his face, he sells her as a living sacrifice to the empire. After managing to survive, Rena returns six years later having thought long and hard about whether she should offer the father she once adored a shot at forgiveness. But a chance encounter and growing attraction with a mysterious man called Lin may change her plans, for better or worse. Will Rena find her father and forgive him for his sins—or make him pay for betraying her?
